Thread Summary
In a forum discussion, karleen proposed scouting Prospect Park for possible dig sites, sparking a conversation about creating new threads. gManTexas sought assistance from locals near NYC, leading to a debate about forum guidelines and support for new users. Fenix questioned karleen's multiple threads, prompting gManTexas to defend her and advocate for clearer guidelines. The conversation emphasized patience, understanding, and the need for improved forum organization. Karleen apologized for any inconvenience and invited positive contributions. The discussion highlighted the importance of a welcoming and organized forum environment, with users reflecting on dynamics and suggesting improvements. Additionally, another thread discussed frustrations over multiple threads on the same subject, with users expressing concerns about understanding solutions, theories, and whims. There were mentions of encountering offensive behavior and a lack of respect in the forum. Suggestions were made to reformat the forum, establish clear rules, and consolidate threads for easier follow-up. Overall, the discussions aimed to enhance communication, behavior, and support within the forum community.

Based on my recent post, "More NEW stuff on Image 12" and gManTexas's consequent post "Possible Solve for Image 12 Verse 10", I would like to propose a scouting of the area(Prospect Park) this weekend. Please PM me if you are interested and available on Saturday afternoon or on Sunday. THIS IS ONLY FOR VERIFICATION of possible dig sites. We are not digging. I will provide info and more details in private message so as not to get into a confusing thread.
Yes it will be cold but the advantage to winter is less leaves and more to see. Thank you.

Is there anyone on this forum that is local to NYC, or within reasonable driving distance?

Is there any reason why you keep creating new threads on this? Are your Cornell's parents?
No need to go that way Fenix. We've already established that this forum has formatting issues. In fact, I have tried to be cognizant that some people do not appreciate starting new threads, so I have diligently posted into the long standing threads, except where I have proposed a solve. I also suppose that unless there are some rules and guidelines written out somewhere, people would not generally have knowledge that starting new threads is frowned upon.

I can think of no insult worse than this. Please accept my apologies. If there was a way to delete my posts that are no longer viable, I would. If you are aware of how to do this, please advise.
Now, if you would like to offer help with the solve or the scouting expedition, I'd be happy to have you along.

No need for hurt feelings. You joined on Jan 28th and then proceeded, with Gman's(great name btw) assistance, to create 4-5 threads on the same exact subject. My question was quite simple and direct, Is there any reason why you keep creating new threads on this?
I must admit I can be overly sensitive when people do not understand the difference between a solution, theory, and whim.
Fenix, this is the crux of the problem with this forum, which is the most heavily treaded on Q4T by the way and deserves much more support from the powers that be. I completely understand where you are coming from, but posts like this might scare off some of the newer users with thinner skin. I've seen several older members bark at people, when honestly, people are here trying to learn and contribute. We can't expect everyone to act like studious monks and read every post for several months, then glean some unspoken rules of the road regarding posting. I mentioned in a different post that I have been on forums and bulletin boards since the beginning of the WWW, and am painfully aware that each one has it's own flavor and old guard. I respect that, but if people are being turned off to the forum, then nothing new will be discussed.
Let's see if someone, a moderator or otherwise, is willing to invest some time to reformat the forum and lay out the rules. This would be helpful, as would some patience from everyone. I don't see the real harm in creating new threads, it's a natural thing to do, especially in 2018. Maybe the site just needs better organization.

No hurt feelings, I am finding that people are offensive without --I hope--intending to be. Perhaps stating something like, "I know you haven't been on the forum very long and these threads can be confusing....might I suggest...".....or something to that effect.
The guidelines in this forum talk about respect and in one week I've been called a retard, told I smoke crack, need to be smarter....blah, blah.....none of this is productive behavior. Or perhaps that's the point???? If people are rude enough, then the newbies will quit.
Like I stated, I'm certain most people don't try to offend but the threads I've been reading are filled with hate. I'm not sure that's the spirit of the solve that Preiss had intended.

Nope. This forum is a godless universe. (Despite what Josh thinks.)

Cool, thanks so much for answering my question.
to answer your question: clearly, we don't know what the hell we are doing. What do you suggest to make the threads easier to follow?

I will sleep better tonight thanks to that tidbit of wisdom.

There aren't a million people on this board. All of us read all of the posts. You only have to make one thread, we will all read it and help if we can.

I am willing to do recon if the theory holds any weight. I have my own site that I have been working on that I must go document this upcoming week in Brooklyn. Do let me know if you would like me to recon another site.
